Family & Children's Association
Family & Children’s is dedicated to caring for our neighbors in need. We are mission-driven and believe that to achieve “real and permanent good” we need to protect and strengthen children, families and their communities.
With your help, we can continue to assist the growing number of Long Islanders whose lives are impacted by financial, emotional or psychological challenges. People like the individuals featured in the following pages.
Join in their success by making a donation of any amount. As John F. Kennedy noted, “There are risks and costs to a program of action, but they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.”

Andean Alliance for Sustainable Development
Prepared to be wowed. An annual report - complete with financials, achievements, and a call to action - all on a two page mailer. A bit boring? No way. It takes into account that each individual is busy and inundated with information. It's takes into account that non-profits don't have to portray a "flies in the eyes" donation campaign in order for people to be moved to give. In fact, organizations can focus on the happy elements of their projects, which brings us to this year's AASD theme - imagine. grow. create.

American Red Cross
The destruction that Superstorm Sandy left on our neighbors’ doorstep has been devastating. In times like these, it is difficult to find reasons to be thankful, but our donors and volunteers remind us that even in the face of mass destruction, there is still so much a person can accomplish. One such person is Red Cross volunteer William Pasquale.

The Adelante Mujeres program
Adelante Mujeres (Flourish/Rise Up Women) is a 501(c)(3) in Forest Grove, Oregon working to educate and empower low-income Latina women and families. We provide low-income Latina women and families the tools to achieve self-determination in the areas of education, empowerment and enterprise.
Adelante Mujeres was founded in 2002 by Bridget Cooke and Sister Barbara Raymond. Through their work in other local organizations, Bridget and Barbara noticed that Latina women did not actively participate in the programs. They founded Adelante Mujeres to empower these women, who were often relegated to the home. As the founders suspected, when presented the opportunity to attend a program focused on and developed for women, these same women quickly found their voice

Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley
Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley provides a comprehensive system of programs and services to address the needs of victims of domestic abuse
Domestic abuse is a problem that affects communities across the country. It crosses all races, social and economic backgrounds, cultures, and relationship types. Domestic abuse is not a private matter, a couple's problem, a domestic "squabble" or a "fight." It is not a momentary loss of temper or the abuse of alcohol and drugs.
Domestic abuse is a pattern of abusive tactics used by one partner in an intimate relationship to obtain and maintain power and control over the other person. Domestic violence is not an isolated instance of aggression. It is an atmosphere that is created by many forms of abuse and a cycle that increases over time in frequency and intensity.
Domestic Abuse is a Crime!
